Nokia E52 Announced: 8 Hours Talktime, 23 Days Standby!
by Ernest Doku
The sleek Nokia E52 was announced today in Warsaw, a sleek smartphone running on Symbian S60 Ver. 3.2 and equipped with more than a little battery life...
Looking at first glance like a QWERTY-less Nokia E55, the E52 has a whopping 8 hours of 2G talktime and 23 hours standby, more than enough to leave your charger at home.
The svelte device weighs a mere 98 grams, and shares essentially the same dimensions (116 x 49 x 10mm) as its E-Series twin.
The E52 is also about the call quality, with noise cancelling software and 'Call Connect', which allows you to hook the handset through a company switchboard.
E-mail support is a must for any corporate exec., and the E52 certainly handles it well by offering Microsoft Exchange support for business and the robust Nokia Messaging service for pleasure.
Despite being a business handset, Nokia hasn't cut corners in the featureset with a 3.2-megapixel camera, HSDPA/HSUPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, A-GPS as well as supporting multimedia with a 1GB memory card thrown in and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The E52 is set for release in the second half of 2009 at a cost of around €245 (£215) SIM-free.

These days, when many consumer electronics are touting many new features but fail to improve upon the battery, it is nice to see that some devices are actually improving and touting battery life.
