The N810 Internet Tablet Release

by Darla Mack

I've missed out alot this week.  Had a bit of an emergency situation on the homefront.  Last week my husband was hit by a car... while walking!

He's ok, but a bit banged and bruised, so because the right side of his body is limited, I have to be his right hand.  So there you have it... the excuse for my absence.

18_n810_lowres Seems like the biggest news this week was the announcement of the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet.  Well rumored up to this point and almost silently in the works, the N810 made its debut Wednesday during the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco.

While browsing around my RSS feed, I decided to post some links going over the N810 by some people that have it in hand.

My buddy Jonathan Greene of Atmaspheric Endevours and Thoughtfix of the Tabletblog have some nice summaries of the device.  And of course, Internet Tablettalk.com has some amazing pics and summary up as well.

I haven't sat down long enough to develop my thoughts on it as of yet, but I'm very glad to see the keyboard.  Also from what I've gathered, the N810 will also include native .avi video support.  The N810 runs on OS2008 which will also be available soon for the N800.

The N810 It is expected to start shipping mid November with an estimated retail price of 479 USD.

Sorry about the accident Darla and i really hope and pray that he makes a full recovery.
We miss you of course and i was talking to someone at the S60 Party last week in London how it would be cool to have had you attend, but we understand your family obligations and they come first.

We will always wait for you Diva.

oh and the N810 just simply rocks and is very cute. I wonder how it would look in mild pink....*nerdgasm alert*
