Mobile Web Server Update Now Available
by Darla Mack
With the welcoming back of Jukka Eklund to the S60 blog family, it was tipped off that a new version of Nokia's Mobile Web Server was in the works.
Today, Jukka has announced that the Mobile Web Server has in fact been updated!
New features include:
- Chat - communicate with your friends
- Presence - share your status
- New languages: Finnish, French, German, Italian and Spanish
Other improvements:
- Python for S60 version 1.4.1
- Improved snapshot camera - take better advantage of device camera capabilities
- General stability improvements
- WebDAV performance improvements
Whether you are installing Mobile Web Server for the first time, or updating from version 1.0 please check out Jukka's post on backing up content and installation problems.
If you are updating, remember to uninstall Python for S60 first and install to the same directory (phone memory or mmc) that your original MWS sis was installed to.
Thanks for the post, you summed it up nicely. Just to clarify: the update SIS package won't ever overwrite existing content. Sorry about the Python problem, it couldn't be avoided. (Here is the official forum post BTW, see the changed UID part: http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/showthread.php?p=352343)
