Thanks Darla, this is the type of visual I needed to try to bring my sanity back before I succumbed to the iPhone hype. However, Apple will most likely reveal some other juicy detail and video tomorrow and Thursday to try to sway us who are kind of on the fence. It is tough to be a gadget addict and maintain sanity at a time like this though.

But the iPhone is cheaper in the US and has up to 8 gigs of storage. N96 160mb. How much would the N95 be with 8 gigs of storage?
Also. Second camera does no good in the US (which is the only place the iPhone is selling)
Also, iPods do have video out through the headphone jack.
It is hard to see the Symbian fanboys get more obnoxious than the Apple ones.

The N95 is impressive, just as its price. Just dropped my phone and cracked the glass today...how ironic!

And those are only the points that matter to the AVERAGE user. That didn't even touch on how limited the music playback features are going to be in regards to file management. Long story short, imagine if your iPod could make calls and it had Bluetooth. Now try to send a music file over Bluetooth. You won't be able to, in addition to many, MANY other similar limitations.

The iPhone does appear surprisingly limited as a new phone - I was wondering if maybe US users generally have less technology-heavy phones than those in Europe or Asia. Either way, the continual description of it as being "groundbreaking" for doing less than phones like the N95 is starting to be a bit tedious.
I will say one positive thing about it though - the interface looks quite cool. Apple always manage to create nice interfaces.
All that said, my next phone is going to be an E90. Definitely a better business phone!

As wireless webcam for my laptop I prefer to use Warelex's Mobiola Web Camera app on my Symbian phone. It surely works on N95.

Hi Darla love your blog, I think everyone in this s60 vs iphone have to come to grips with usability I have an N95 I love it but it has major shortfalls a huge one is battery life irregardless of features, i.e. yesterday I went for a walk turned on sportstracker and played music on my bluetooth stereo headset and after 2 hours I had 1 bar of battery left. Granted, iphone is missing major features for me but if I was recommending a phone for an average joe it would definately an iphone.
