Windows Live App Available via Nokia Download! in Sweden
by Darla Mack
Heres another bit of news that makes me grunt... GRRR. A reader informed me that after updating the Download! folder on his Nseries device he now has a WinLive folder which contains an application (not a shortcut) that can access Hotmail and MSN Messenger.
From what I can make of it, the app installs your Hotmail account into the Mailbox settings on your device. Can anyone share more details on their experience with this?
Thanks Eric!
UPDATE: DSHanderg.NET has the download files for those that want to check it out. Thanks Daniel!!
Gasp! Me wants!

Now this sure looks interesting! Do you know for which provider that now is accesible? Or of it is possible to run this independently, no matter what provider you are using.
I just checked my Nokia N95 (bought unlocked/unbranded), running V11.0.0.26, updated the Download! folder but didn't get anything here. My provider is 3 (Three, Denmark), as of course they have a MSN/Hotmail solution, but this requires their bloody soft-/firmware, and this I really don't want.

Hmm...wonder if it supports Hotmail's Push...

Why doesnt my N73 ME in India have anything nice like this. All i have is-
Yahoo! Go : How gratefull i am to Yahoo and Nokia for this app!
Amazon folder which includes Amazon link and MobiReader : Worthless
Nokia Extras which includes Sports Tracker, Wellness Diary, Space Impact, and 2 more apps : Not good enough
N73 Extras : SMS Accelerator and TimeZone update : why dont the include the SMS Accelerator in the new firmwares, and in India, i dont need the TimeZone update.
Hotlinks : The most useless app, dont know what is the need!!
Search : A nice addition to my smartphone
Catalogs : Nothing great!!

Hi there!
There are some info in swedish here:
http://mobil.mkf.se/ArticlePages/200706/26/20070626143804_MOB766/20070626143804_MOB766.dbp.asp
A summary of the article...
Anna Svensson at Nokia Sweden say's it's a Pilottest in a few countries including Sweden to see how popular this service is.
MSN messenger is only for these models:
Nokia N95, N93i, N80, N80 IE och N73
I tried it on my N95 and it's really nice.
I got a Windows Live mailbox in Messages so it also syncs my hotmailaccount.

I believe the theme used in the screenshots, is Psiloc Reflect Theme. You can get (buy?) it here: http://shop.psiloc.com/en/Application,262292,Psiloc+Reflect+Theme

i have got this application and yes it does add your hotmail account to the mailbox. You have to be logged into the messenger before you can access your mails. It downloads the headers 1st then you can opt to have the whole mail downloaded. You can also see the pictures of the contacts you are chatting to. You have the option of offline, busy or online. When you 1st open the application and log in, the next time you open it again you will see a picture of yourself if you have 1. You can see the name of your contacts and whatever comments they,ve written....you can choose to just view their 1st name/surname name or email address. The application also adds another tab into your phonebook where you can view all your contacts if you are logged on. If you are not logged on, they disappear. You can choose to view once again, by their 1st name, surname or email address and also the contacts on line at that moment. That is what i can think of so far from the top of my head

Anyone able to sign on with @msn.com address? Seems like only hotmail.com is usable.
