Nokia PC Suite 6.83 Now Available
by Darla Mack
Nokia's new PC Suite version 6.83 is now out of Beta and available for download complete with support for Window's Vista users.
There is also a section on the download page for devices specific features that are supported.
One of the changes that you will notice while installing apps is that when the dialogue box pops up confirming installation to the phone, DO NOT CLICK THE BUTTON. Lol, if you recall the button used to say OK but now says CANCEL and if you do so it will cancel the installation, which don't get me wrong, is a really good feature... but I've been so used to clicking that OK button that I frustrated myself by clicking Cancel by accident. DOH!
Updated features include:
- New version of Nokia Content Copier lets you select the content types you want to back up and restore.
- Notification when new phone software (firmware) updates are available.
- Support for Windows Vista addes.
- Released 04 April, 2007
Support for vista but not Mac? come on Nokia...

i really dont understand why the installer's interface is kabillion times nicer than the main app interface that look so ugly and old like those really horrible scanner software...nokia common - consistency, consistency, consistency!

Hi there Darla,
I'm from India and have just bought E65. While downloading PC Suite 6.83, I noticed Nokia mentioned only CA-53 as compatible cable and not CA-70 (combined charging and data cable). I tried it and it works fine with E65. Checked PC Suite sites across the world (India/Asia/Europe/US) and everywhere it states CA-70 not supported. Also noted a lot of accessories (such as music headset HS-20) are shown as not supported for E65.
Just curious on whether this just a lack of update or another marketing ploy by Nokia.
Regards
Umesh
