Motorola SLVR Red for a Cause
by Darla Mack
Motorola, the world's second-largest mobile
phone maker, will offer a red version of its Slvr to help benefit the "Project Red" campaign led by U2's Bono in efforts to tackle AID's in Africa.
The red Slvr will join a red American Express
credit card; a Gap T-shirt made in Africa and available in red (and
other colors); Armani sunglasses emblazoned with a Product Red logo;
and Converse Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers done in an African motif, according to The Chicago Tribune.
"Motorola is dedicated to doing the right thing and supporting worthwhile efforts around the world like (PRODUCT) RED. A percentage of the profits of each red MOTOSLVRTM sold is contributed to The Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. And it doesn't stop there - every time you use this red MOTOSLVRTM phone, a portion of your normal charges will be contributed to The Global Fund. Every call and every message counts. Just keep using it, and the contributions will keep flowing." via JoinRed.com
The Red SLVR is to be released first in the UK and become available in the US and Canada at a later date. If you want to buy the phone and don't live in the UK you can sign up here and add your name to the waiting list.

More information can be found at JoinRed.com.
On a side note, 5% of all calls made with the phone will be donated, I believe.
