MOBILE TV DEMO NOW AVAILABLE BY TEXT FOR MASS-MARKET 2.5G SMARTPHONES

Mobile content and technology development company, ROK Entertainment Group, today announced the launch of the world’s first ‘text for mobile TV’ service for mass-market 2.5G handsets.
“We launched the UK’s first ever independent mass-market 2.5G mobile TV service in October last year, simply to prove our patent-pending technology works.” said Jonathan Kendrick, ROK’s Chairman and CEO.
“Now we are able to offer a free download so people can trial our full-screen, high resolution mobile TV for themselves without having to sign-up to a 3G service.”
Already compatible with 20 top-selling ‘Smartphone’ handsets, ROK TV offers a range of channels to include CNN, ITN, The Cartoon Network, National Geographic as well as several music, lifestyle and comedy channels.
“All people need do if they have, for example, a new Nokia such as the 6630, 6680, the N70 or the N90 is text ‘ROK S’ to 80160 to receive a free demo of ROK TV” Kendrick explained “and if they have one of the new Sony Ericsson handsets such as the W600i, the W800i or the K600, all they need do is text ‘ROK J’ to 80160. The full list of compatible handsets is shown on our www.rok.tv website.”
“Much is being spoken about the future of mobile TV, but the fact is that mobile TV is only available at present on certain niche 3G services.” Added Bruce Renny, Marketing Director of ROK, “What we have set out to do with ROK TV is to make the service available to as many people as possible – right here, right now - and, with the free download via text, we have made it easy for people to trial the service."
ROK TV is available as a subscription service from www.rok.tv and is charged at £0.99p per channel per month or all 12 channels for £9.99 per month.
