I'm Sorry, The Number You Have Dialed...
by Darla Mack
Ok so heres the dilema. You place a 411 call on your cell which I think with some providers in the US is around $1.25 - $1.50. You give the name, address, city state and zip and bang you get the number with the option to be transferred. Force of habit makes me write down the number instead of the automatic transfer. I think that stems back to the days of calling directory assistance from a landline and they charged an additional 35 cents to transfer the call.
So what happens when the number given is incorrect? You've already been charged for the initial "directory assistance" call, but do you really think you should be charged for the error on their part?
It reminds me of Joe Pesci in one of the Lethal Weapons movies when he said, "they @#$! ya with the cell phones!!"
Thats why I use http://www.free411.com/
Sure, I have to jot down the number, but it's free, and it saves me the extra money if, like you mentioned, 411 gets it wrong the first time.

Thanks for the tip dthree. Ya know, I remember reading about this before and I might of even blogged about it. But you know how quick we forget things at certain times :)
