Nokia E61 and N91 Soon To Make Its Appearance

by Darla Mack

Nokia_e61_3Browsing the web I came across some sites mentioning the releases of the E61 and E91.  Gizmodo reports that the Nokia E61 is rumored to be released sometime this month (mid-February) according to MobileBee.  The estimated price for the device is $499.99.  The BlackBerry killer or more affectionately called "The Nokiaberry" sports a QWERT keyboard and it's large display supports 16 million colors. It supports multiple mobile email clients like BlackBerry Connect, GoodLink, Nokia Business Center, Seven Mobile Mail, Seven Always-On Mail, and Visto Mobile.   Running on Series 60 (version 9.1) the E61 has  75MB of internal memory and a Mini SD Card slot for expansion.

MobileBurn reports that the Nokia N91 has received FCC approval.  The N91, lol which may possible be the iPod Killer packs a 4GB Hard Drive for storage of up to 3000 songs, 802.11g WiFi, Bluetooth, 2.0 megapixel camera and UMTS 2100MHz compatibility.

Both devices are scheduled to hit the US market but carriers haven't been mentioned as of yet.

E91?

on another note, it will be interesting to see what impact "The Smiler" (E61) is going to have.

Phil

I'm using the E61 as my regular phone now and absolutely loving it.

All About N91

Hi

"Nokiaberry", never heard it described like that before, i like the expression.

We've got some prototype N91s, the 3.5 jack is very convenient, makes it possible to use almost any headphones.

It's a very stealthy operation they have going with this e61. I called Nokia and they said "Q1." Well, that's good I guess - but we're coming up on the end of Q1 and you would think there would be some more buzz about it. There is NONE.

I also called Cingular and had them hunt down any plans for it. Nothing. So I suppose it is on Verizon. Thing is - Cingular and Nokia usually sleep together. So I don't know what to believe on this. I do think it will change the market though. The Motorola Q and the new Samsung smart phone are both Windows Mobile. But they won't be out until later this year. If Nokia can get this thing out first - they will have some nice traction.
