Nokia Maps 1.0 Available to the Public
by Darla
Alongside the introduction of Ovi, the door to Nokia's new Internet services, Nokia Maps has also had a change.
Nokia Maps has been made fully available for most S60 devices. This includes both Nseries and Eseries. Full versions are available as well as upgrades from 1.0 to 1.2 for N95 users.
In the future Nokia Maps will be be provided under Ovi.com.
I've installed it over my 1.2 and so far I haven't really noticed any changes... then again I haven't gone anywhere either.
To download, please visit Nokia Maps.

Which version to download for N75, which does not seem to be listed. I downloaded the one for N73 but installing gives "Update Error" on the phone.

Never mind. ID10T error. I already had it installed. D'oh! At least I now know that it's not the FP1 version, since I downloaded that one and it said it was not supported.

If you notice after installing Nokia Maps update that you can't go into turn bu turn navigation (it crashes) remove the POC Microsoft Live for S60. It slows the phone to the crawl. I noticed that my camera started crashing after I installed it (after opening the shutter cover) it would start and then close right away and go into the stand by screen. Today after upgrading the maps they were crashing like crazy. I dumped live crap and the phone works like a charm.

With version 1.2 the tracking option is gone, does anyone know where to get the previous version that came loaded in memory?
