Nokia N73 Giveaway!

I know this it a bit old, but as promised I will now start the contest.  Back in December I reached 1000 posts.  To me that was an achievement, even though it took me some years to get there.  The way the blogosphere is going now one can reach 1000 posts in a month! 

Since I've become a fan of YouTube I would like the entrant to dedicate a video, especially for me, congratulating me on my 1000th post!!  Consider it an honor!  Who knows where that video might end up!! 

Now the catch is this... this contest will run until the 100th video link is posted.  Please no obscenities or vulgarity, but do be creative!!  Oh come on... that doesn't sound too bad does it?

The winning video will be posted here and the N73 will be shipped out by me.  Once received please send me a pic of yourself and your new N73!

Why not use veeker for everyone uploading their video's? They can do it directly from their mobile phone without having to upload to a PC first. You can embed the veeker player on your site and everyone can see the video's in one location as they are sent in.

Hey Darla. don't really know if you remember me but i was a fellow blogger, used to be on mIRC on mobitopia. I stopped bloggin quite some time ago. Was just checking out your blog and i see you've kept up the excellent work that you always did. I'm still stuck on my Nokia 7610, don't really have the cash to switch to a newer OS symbian because i got college and all. So i was thinkin what kind of video you'd like but then i couldn't get an idea that would win it so i guess i'll do the uniquest of them all. No video. I'm plain just asking you to consider giving me that Nokia N73. why? well because i need it and something tells me you i might even deserve it. Your call anyhow. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations on the 1000 mark!!! I have always been a mobile enthusiast myself - back from the days when I was "hacking" the old monochrome Ericssons to get that extra game... Ever since I saved enough to get my 3650 I've spend too much time fiddling with it - trying to make it a true multimedia PC :) Now it still survives, although with a cracked screen and blown loudspeaker... I refuse to buy a non-Symbian phone - just can't go back... I've always dreamt of being able to afford a newer Symbian phone - to see where the system has gone since the 3650 days, but supporting my family and going to college leave very diminutive amount of discretionary income available - and that is always spend on my POS car... :( So, I decided to try my luck here - after hours of mixing, beat-matching, rendering and converting - here is my 35 second gift to you - hope you like it.

Well, someone once said "Some people dream of success while others wake up and work hard at it." I would paraphrase it "Some people dream of N73 while others wake up and work hard at it."
So here is my second entry. Hoping to "get A for effort", well... actually... hoping to get N for effort... like and an N73 - my dream phone. I was actually thinking of making enough videos to get your submissions to 100... but a new deadline has been set... so.. whew... I don't have to do that. :) Sorry I can't make a "real" film - my 3650 has pretty bad video capabilities and I have no camcorder, so I stick to Flash... but hey.. if I get the N73, I'll make you one helluva movie... :) Really, there's no other way I could afford that beauty being an international student without an off-campus work permit...

Well, it's almost over and I am sure all 5 contestants are eagerly awaiting the final decision. Now let's recap...
First we have Gal, with a very heartfelt entry, short but sincere congratulatory song.
Then we have Henrique with quite an elaborate piece, very nicely done (probably in Flash), which gives a kind of retrospective of Darla's blogs evolution.
After that comes Ricky with a rather interesting slide show of many 1000-themed things (plus some driving footage)
Then follows my desperate entry, combining some of the characters and theme song from one of Darla's favorite shows (and a personal favorite of mine as well)... Let's just call it Huey, Riley and Darla medley number 1 (with guest appearance by Hello Kitty)
Next we have Marcos with a very long video montage of him doing 1000 themed activities - long and kind of a bit 80-style footage, but well done and obviously with a good amount of effort put in.
Finally we have one poor overachieving sucker (read ME) submitting a second video, namely Huey, Riley and Darla medley number 2, trying to earn some extra brownie points that would hopefully make a difference, since he is so desperately in love with Symbian phones but just like women, they seem to always get away from him... (apparently intelligence, good manners and good looks are not enough to get neither the attention of the fairer sex nor that of expensive cell phones... :( :( :(
