CoolSMSChat - A Solution For Threaded SMS

After reading a comment left by Robb in regards to the Threaded SMS post I decided to check out this app by eHandySoft.

CoolSMSChat is a chat-style SMS communication tool and is a perfect add-on or replacement for the phone's built-in SMS app.

Currently CoolSMSChat is only available for S60 1st and 2nd edition devices, but I got in contact with the developer and expressed the need for the availability for 3rd edition as well.  Hopefully that should be available soon!

"A chat-style SMS communication tools in S60. You can read and write SMS in a cool user interface like Msn Messenger.  It gives users a handy follow up screen to track the sent and received sms messages to and from one particular contact.  It also supports emoticons!

Did your contact give you an ETA for S60v3 support?

There is a definate need for threaded MMS on S60 3rd ed. I'm glad that you are giving some blog press to this. I actually started work on an app at one point, however my meager C++ skills were not up to the task of developing with the s60 API's.

Have you tried GreenMail? it's been around for long time, and it's free! It has the SMS chat feature, an also threaded SMS by date and sender. I use it on mi N6600 >> http://www.sw4u.org/symbian_e.htm
