Pull Email - A Feature Almost Forgotten
By DarlaI've decided that I would give the crew at Lonely Cat Games a break from issuing new reg keys for me and my constant changing of IMEI numbers. I do hope in the future that they will get away from making their products IMEI specific. Normally I would use ProfiMail as an Email client, but with the advancement of S60 I've decided to start using the built in client more.
Reading a very interesting blog the other night, published by Jihad A Soaileek AKA the Nokialist (think Socialist) I was reminded of the best feature of the built in client. Pull Email.
With Pull Email enabled you no longer have to constantly login to check your email. Instead your email will be automatically delivered at the interval that you select.
From your handset go to Messaging -> Options -> Settings -> E-mail. Select your Mailbox if you already have one set up. Select 'Automatic retrieval' from the list and change. By default this option is disabled. Change the Header retrieval to 'Always enabled' or 'Only in home net' which only checks for mail while in your home network. Keep in mind that this will use up alot of data so you might want to make sure that you have a good if not unlimited data plan. Next, define your 'retrieval intervals'. Once saved your phone will make the first automatic retrieval and you will be alerted when a new email message is received.
Thanks to the Nokialist for reminding me about this :)

Hi Darla,
As an every-day reader of your blog I thought you´d might be interested to read my last post that I have written on my S60 blog about Nokias function Closed Content List + a workaround for it.
The post can be found here:

Keep up the good work ;-)

Profimail will do this too, or am I missing something here.
Personally, I have switched back to the built-in email client because Profimail will blurt out it's email chime even if I have the phone on silent mode. With the built-in client I can set the email alert to be different with each profile.
