Exploring Mobile Culture
by Darla
What kind of culture do we mobile users fit into? Are we in a class by ourselves? It's interesting to know what people do differently in their lives now that they have the ability to capture, share, connect and learn from something so powerful that fits in the palm of your hand.
I can attest that I do things in a different way. I capture images that maybe no one else may find interesting other than myself. If something hits me while away from my laptop I can easily search and browse on the web of my multimedia computer.
Scott Smith of The Mobile-Weblog and Social Technologies has set up a Flickr group to study mobility in different cultures, and this is a way to see it visually
Images of mobile communication, play, exploration, entertainment, creativity worldwide. We seek images in from all over the world of people, technology, services and activities that depict how mobile culture is changing around the world. This doesn't have to be limited to mobile phones themselves, but can include technologies and services that will impact mobile culture, like mobile gaming, portable media, etc.
Feel free to stop by and join the group and share your mobile culture with the world.
