Self Tagging
by Darla
Being a fan of Xen and her unstoppable concept of self expression, I started thinking about the whole self-expression, personalization, tagging thing. We customize our devices to express ourselves. We accessorize out outer appearance in order to show off a form of self expression to either be approved of or denied upon those that might or might not be interested. We tag images of our life and/or articles so that they fit into a larger group of the same context. But what do we do to announce ourselves?
I was recently sent an email asking if I would be interested in participating in a television show for technology. In the email it was said that they needed a young, attractive female tech talent. Made me feel good to hear that and I replied to the email thanking them for considering me to be young. That wasn't such a good idea, revealing my age because after that I received a complimenting "Wow you look so young", followed by, "but I'm looking for young, brainy, gorgeous ladies who are SMART and TECH SAVVY who need to be single and in their 20's". Maybe if I tagged myself I wouldn't feel as bad for only identifying with some of those descriptions.
I'm gonna share with you some tags of myself... some given by people that like me, some by people that hate me, some by family, some by friends and of course... some by me.
sarcastic, sexy, analytical, sensitive, flirty, girly, tomboyish, bossy, funny, friendly, b****y, diva, erotic, sensual, clumsy, silly, smart, obnoxious, naive, top-heavy, big-boned, stressball, fireball, hot-stuff, MILF, punk, dramatic, sweet, sincere, pesty, insatiable, inquisitive, loony, reserved, private, personable, gloomy, goofy, dorky, nerdy, trendy, nagbit, honest, humane, humble, gracious, loud, confusing, hot-tempered, kind-hearted, professional, ambitious, supportive, outgoing, approachable, reasonable, nurturing, mother, patient, impatient, hard, strong, nokia-addict, S60-junkie, enthusiastic, demanding, sassy, spontaneous, frustrating, playful, bold, unique, thirty-something,....
I think the only time I've seen this method incorporated in a Mobile Application is with Nokia's Sensor App mainly because you can add self-descriptive tags of your own.
Feel free to add "me" tags of your own in the comment field. :)
