Nokia Podcasting App Available for Download
by Darla
Word-on-the-blog is that Nokia Podcasting, both site and app will soon go live following a press release sometime this week.
The Nokia podcast app will be available for download for S60 3rd edition devices, but has been optimized for use with the N91.
"The Nokia Podcast application, which is still in beta, will let you
subscribe, download, preview and play supported audio and video
podcasts. Currently it's only available in English, but it will be
available in over 40 languages by October this year. We tested it out
on our own podcast via a 3G connection -- it cost us around £15 in
network download charges, so we strongly recommend that you use this
application via a Wi-Fi connection." via: CNET
The Nokia Podcasting App (beta) is now available for download.
My question for Steven Stewart, Nokia's Podcasting product manager... what about S60 2nd edition users?

The podcasting app really needs WiFi to work. When sold in China, Nokia disabled WiFi connectivity because of the strange rules from Chinese government. Obviously, the Chinese users are not so happy when they discover that they cannot use WiFi for the podcasting app. Here is some outcry on a Chinese site in Chinese, naturally.
N91在大陆版没有WiFi,所以有的用户发现他们下载一个播客需要450块钱。(中文)
