Moving Your Yahoo! Go Themes

by Darla

One thing I hate is having unnecessary stuff stored on my phones memory.  After installing Yahoo! Go you get this little message that tells you that certain things will be installed to the phones memory and memory card.  The themes (there are 2 but only 1 shows up under the settings menu of the app) are actually installed to the phones memory.  If you go to the themes menu of the phone you will see Yahoo! and Yahoo!Blue are stored on the phones memory.  Playing around with Fexplorer I changed that.

Fescr003_9 Some users may be used to seeing themes in sis format somewhere on the storage section of their handsets.  More experienced users can actually install or remove themes from their device by using the folder that the themes mbm and ini files are stored.  In any case... this is what I did.

Opening Fexplorer, select C:>System > Skins.  This is going to require a keen eye since the themes are not easily found by name but by the folder number.  If there are no other themes in your c: drive other then the preinstalled Nokia theme on your phone than this should be easy, but if you want to make sure just highlight the folder and press your phones control key to the right.  There you will see the named themes ie: Yahoo!Blue or Yahoo!.  Once you've determined that it is the correct folder, highlight the whole folder in the Skins file, go to edit and select cut.  Then go to your E: drive which is the Memory Card, find the same folder (E:/system > skins) and paste.  Viola'!

Now when running the app you want to go to your settings and make sure that under customize phone you turn the Yahoo! theme off.

Evo!

I had Yahoo Go installed on my 3230. But recently i bought 6630. I have it preinstalled on the mmc, but i had already bought a 512 mb mmc for my 3230. So im using the same in my 6630 now. When i had installed yahoo go on my earlier phone, i had got a beautiful yahoo blue theme with it. Now i dont have gprs activated, so cannot install it anymore on my 6630. But I would love to get the yahoo theme back. Could someone of you provide me with the original Yahoo Go theme? I would be really thankful to him..
