Dear Nokia, Can You Please Make a Universal PC Suite?

I decided to take stock on all the gadgets that I have to see what I'm using and what can go on eBay. I realized one thing that kind of pisses me off about having so many Nokia's around. Why in the hell can't Nokia make a universal PC Suite? Do they just assume that people use only one phone? I have 2 PCs and a beat up POS IBM Thinkpad and each computer has a version of PC Suite on it. Its a pain in the ass when I want to use my N-Gage and have to switch stuff around, move music, disconnect and reconnect portable storage drives and bt adapters. Just recently their newer pc suites are only WinXP compatible which sucks because the other PCs that I have are both Win98. I don't understand what the big issue is with having just one PC suite with the options of add-ons for additional handsets. I blogged the other day about the Multimedia Factory add-on for the 6630 which, if anyone uses Firefox, just installs itself to the PC suite which is proof that phone specific add-ons can be done.
So, Dear Nokia, being such a very good consumer and having used almost every GSM that you've ever made (along with some CDMA phones as well) can you please take my request into consideration? I'm sure others out there feel the same way.

Interesting post. Please don't take this wrong, but do whatever you have to do in order to upgrade or get new laptops. I program Win32 for a living and making things Windows 98 compatible is no fun. My coworkers are planning to throw a party when we don't have to support that OS anymore. I mean, when things go wrong in 98, that's it, the OS is probably going to bluescreen any second.
So, in a nutshell, I recommend that you upgrade to XP. You'll be a lot better off.

That does bug me a bit. And using it in Windows 98 is a bit harsh, but I have to do it using Virtual PC. Hey, Mac OS X isn't too hard. Can we get a port!?

Well, the new PC Suite for all the new Nokia-phones out there is compatible with every single one of them. The problem is (as I saw you have a Nokia 6600) that older phones are not compatible with the new PC Suite. The solution? Just buy new stuff! ;)
